I began a meditation practice in 2002, and found yoga in 2004, establishing a fulfilling personal practice that continues to inform and illuminate. I finished my 200-hour basic teacher training in February, 2009. In addition to the joys of teaching and practicing yoga, I am the mother of two wonderful young adults, 24 and 19, two dogs (born yogis), and have a ‘day’ job, which offers limitless opportunities for the practice of deep breathing.
In 2004, in search of peace and healing, I stepped into an adventure that I called “uncovering the essential Lib.” Fatefully, but not surprisingly, soon after speaking that mission aloud I found myself in my first yoga class. From the beginning of the journey, the exploration of yoga as union has enlightened all areas of life and relationship.
Beginning with the physical, yoga unties, uncovers and unites, creating awareness and strength.
The breath balances, awakening energy and a sense that time is on our side – everything is perfect in this moment, just as it is.
As we experience even a few minutes of meditative silence, we create an opening to the reality that all is one, that our human journey, with its joys and struggles, is a glorious expression of the divine that animates the entire world.
As a teacher, my intention is to offer classes that open a space for each student to safely meet themselves exactly where they are - in this moment, this body, this mood. From that space of self-acceptance and self-inquiry, the possibilities for healing and growth are limitless.
