CLASS DESCRIPTIONS

Adaptive Yoga & Breath Work

This class teaches postures and movements with floor and chair options (including wheelchair), and focuses on strengthening and developing range of motion. Please pass the word about this class (seniors, MS, cancer, physical therapy and rehab. HIV/AIDS, and other physical experiences). Breathing creates the foundation of all hatha yoga practices. By learning to observe subtle qualities of breath flow, we enhance our ability to pay attention, to be aware. Each week, we start practice with the body strengthening movements of Mukunda Stiles’ Joint Freeing Series. After toning and strengthening our bodies, we’ll practice a sequence of seated pranayama and meditation techniques. Questions and comments during the practice are encouraged (when we’re not being silent, of course!!). Regular practice can build body strength and breath capacity. Calling all smokers an ex-smokers… You can watch a video of this class here.

Dance Meditation

We move to music from around the world, using a wide range of rhythms and tempos to help us connect deeply within. Slow and meditative, flowing, playful, and high-energy – the music invites us to feel and express the energy and emotions that move within us. We practice turning off the voices that tell us what we “should” do and instead allow our body’s inner wisdom to lead. Come explore the joy of meditation in motion - a great way to take a break from busy lives.

Early Morning Yoga

In the morning, before the quickness of the world begins, yoga can bring your day to life. Each class focuses on different yogic techniques to wake up the body, the mind, and the soul. Start your day right.

Hoop Dancing

Hoop dance begins with finding your style and allowing your body to truly express its movements inside your hoop. This class will take you from keeping your hoop up to making it fly! Whether you’re a beginner or confident hooper, you will benefit from an hour focused on the foundation of your own unique hooping style. Bring your own hoop, borrow one of ours, or purchase here: Superhoopers. Drop-ins always welcome.

Morning Yoga & Early Morning Yoga

In the morning, before the quickness of the world begins, yoga can bring your day to life. Each class focuses on different yogic techniques to wake up the body, the mind, and the soul. Start your day right.

Nude Yoga for Men

  (Women: Cancelled until further notice)

The doors are locked at start time. Please arrive early. These All-Levels classes are offered for men or women who wish to deepen their yoga experience by practicing without the restriction of clothing, literally liberating your body and soul to exist in their natural state of freedom. Prior yoga experience requested. Please BRING YOUR OWN MAT & towel.

Soul Yoga

A deeper practice to explore our blending (Yoga) of Matter (Prakriti) and Spirit (Purusha). During these heart-filled classes, Ana Lisa, Chris, and Sandi share from their personal practice and training to teach a practice that embodies the richness of asana, pranayama and meditation sequences to cultivate stillness, compassion and life juiciness. These practices are intended to inspire and grow your own personal practice. Sometimes classes are slower, more reflective, and other times, the energy can really flow! Asanas and movements vary from simple to more complex. We recommend 1-2+ years yoga experience and a desire to grow your home practice.

Tantra Kriya Yoga

This practice teaches us how to explore and move energy through the spine. During our Friday gathering, the participants will be taken through a unique breathwork and movement sequence aimed towards opening the energetic pathways in the body.

Thai Massage with Partner Yoga

Our human bodies require touch and contact as a part of our natural health hygiene. This class will teach you how to give and receive simple body work using principles of Thai massage, yoga therapy and partner yoga. Prior experience with yoga or Thai are NOT required. Please come solo, or bring someone that with whom you want to share touch and time.  Thai Massage with Bill

The Living Room

A fun gathering of Yogis... bringing the room to life!  For more info: schedule

Yin/Restorative Yoga

For yogins who want to have a deeper experience of stillness in an asana, we practice longer holdings and encourage deep, focusedbreathing and meditation. This is a rejuvenating yoga experience to untie your body’s tensions and restore your energy and vitality. Recommended for beginning students, anyone stressed and overworked or revitalizing after illness, injury and surgery.

Acrobatic Yoga (aka Yogi Flight School)

Have you ever watched acrobats in stunned amazement? Have you ever wondered how it would feel to fly? Taking partner yoga to new levels, Acrobatic Yoga teaches you how to safely and therapeutically Base, Spot, and Fly other yogis. Yoga experience and body awareness recommended. Not for most beginners.

Yoga Flow

These classes emphasize linking our movements with our breath to create a flowing, energetic experience of meditation-in-motion. If you have strong practice, please feel free to advance your vinyasa sequences. This can be a strong practice that uses a variety of postures and movements to develop fluid strength, evolve balance and cultivate self-acceptance with grace. Using props and smiling are encouraged; we all can use a little more support and joy in our lives!
